Analysis that incorporates AI and skin big data will perform two types of examinations unique to APEX: the "Potential Analysis to Measure Your Skin’s Future Potential" and "Condition Analysis to Know Your Skin Condition Now, and in the Near Future".

The condition of the skin’s three layers (epidermis, dermis, subcutaneous tissue) is used to estimate the level of oxygen influence* and speculate whether it will function properly in the future.

The mechanisms of deep skin respiration
POLA has focused on cell mitochondria.
There are various elements that affect the skin's potential*. One of them is the respiratory conditions of the skin. Cells will not receive sufficient oxygen if only shallow respiration is being made. This may affect dryness, dullness, and hollowed skin, amongst other unsteady skin conditions. "Mitochondria", found within cells, control skin respiration. So then, how does skin respiration work?
Skin respiration activates cells.
Skin respiration has two major functions:
(1) It works to deliver oxygen within blood to cells.
(2) It works to apply delivered oxygen to mitochondria within cells.

APEX has succeeded in deep-skin condition analysis that is both convenient, accurate, and available at storefronts (an industry first), through its unique analysis technology that has been newly developed through movies of skin in motion. Of the total 14 seconds of this movie, more than 1.7 million feature values were extracted, and condition analysis of each layer of the skin (epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue) was implemented using estimation formulas constructed through AI technology (machine learning). Understanding the skin condition of the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue allows us to estimate whether these three elements will be able to function properly in the future.

This analysis scores and visualizes current skin conditions and conditions likely to occur in the near future by applying know-how acquired from big data containing approximately 19.7 million cases (as of the end of December 2021) of the skin accumulated to this point, along with moisture sensor, skin camera imagery, and profiling data.
Information gained through the Condition Analysis
The current skin condition and conditions likely to occur from now on is estimated down to an unseeable cell level, to pinpoint signs along with causes of skin trouble you may not be aware of. Analysis results can be viewed in the dedicated tablet device.
